Great boots! These are my first pair of hiking boots and have worn them extensively this past week. I tried on eight different brands and styles before going back to these, the second pair I tried.
Am very pleased and impressed so far.

I have paddled a 17ft sea kayak for the past 5 years and love it. However, since my wife surprised me with a Biscuit 65 at the beginning of the summer my sea kayak is gathering dust. I can go anywhere with this boat from rivers, creeks, lakes, and the beach and have a ball. The Bad Ass seat is pure luxury, I can spend hours in the boat and have no back issues. This boat is just a lot of fun, a good workout on the flat water, and a hoot to play in. It feels like it's a part of me.

On the down side I had to velcro all the padding inside the boat so it didn't float away on me when I went swimming and the boat is a pain to dewater.

I highly recommend this boat and wouldn't hesitate getting another when this one is worn out! Thanks to Mike at TAO for all your help.

a brilliant little stove with a super compact design. The ignition works every time and boils water quite quickly.

This is a great little stove, used it for years and still going strong.

Pros: Easy to maintain, light weight, dependable design
Cons: Had a problem using kerosene (using naphtha now)

Purchased this paddle along with a Liquid Logic XP10, I've used it mainly for surfing at the beach, so it may not have allot of miles, it has taken allot of abuse. I've pushed of rocks and sand, been torqued pretty hard in the waves, but shows no signs of wear.

Pros: Nice blade shape and size, no fluttering, feels like it will stand up to abuse

Cons: A bit heavy, but it also feels like it will stand up to abuse

    Thanks TAO.

One of the most comfortable pfd's I've ever worn. I just wish the back was tapered.

I'm 5'11, 190 lbs, I purchased the standard length a while ago and have only really used it a handful of times, as I usually hammock camp. However this a very nice pad.

Pros: Light weight, rolls tight, gives enough insulation to be comfortable on cold nights, great product for a good price.

Cons: Doesn't seem to inflate quite enough on its own, I usually give it an extra breath before closing the nozzle.

I recommend this to someone concerned about weight but may still be on a budget. Thanks TAO.

Lots of storage space and easy to maneuver. Very comfortable to sit it. A good all around kayak. I've had it in lakes, rivers and oceans.

Bought this one for the wife a couple years ago and we couldn't be happier with it. It's perfect for cruising around lakes and other recreational paddling. Very easy to get in and out of and easy to carry.

Awesome weekend or daypack. Have had it out in all sorts of weather and never even a sign that my stuff might get wet. The vented harness does help on those hot days. I use it as an all around pack, to and from work on light hikes and even an overnight (if you can pack light enough).

I have had this tent for 4 years and it has never let me down. Through wind storms and thunderstorms this tent can handle anything. The vertibule is nice and spacious and pegs out at two point which I especially like. Spacious enough on the inside to feel comfortable with two people. Mix of mesh and nylon for a great three season tent. I have even used it in -20C.

I live on a river that feeds in to the Ocean...the Breeze is the perfect transional kayak. Nimble for the River, Stable for the Ocean. It also fits a wide range of people, so friends and family can get out and enjoy Kayaking.
  • SHERPA NAMGYAL JACKET

    November 23, 2010, 6:20 pm

I have been wearing this jacket since September almost daily. The boiled wool paired with the fleece lining make a great warm fall jacket or winter midlayer. For those brisker fall days this piece is a good stand alone and when it turns windy/rainy and just below 0C throw a shell over top and you're good to go.

Very comfortable soft shell! It's lined with fleece so wearing it feels like wearing your favorite sweater except this one will protect you against Halifax's frequent heavy winds. Although it's water resistant, heavy downpours might sneak through the seams. Great choice for sunny/cloudy days or if you will be out in the rain for short periods of time.

I'm 5'11" around 190 lbs and new to kayaking. I wasn't sure which water environment I would be spending the most time in. I live on the ocean but love rivers and fresh water lakes. I'm camper and a fisher. So far I have been paddling this boat in ocean bays and surfing at the beach. It is very stable, and easy to paddle. Seems lighter then what Liquid Logic says it weights, probably because it is so balanced.
I would and have recommended this boat and TAO to friends.
  • RIVERSTONE BOAT CART

I've used my canoe cart several times so far. Although its not ideal for rough terrain it will take a gravel path with occasional roots and small rocks quite well. I had both my daughter's in the canoe, while on the cart, loaded with PFD's, paddles, and light gear. The cart took it all without trouble. I can easily walk the 1km to my closest put in rather than load the truck and waste gas driving it there. You also get all kinds of smiles and waves while walking a canoe on wheels down the road!
  • WILDERNESS SYSTEMS NORTHSTAR

    May 5, 2010, 10:07 am

We have used our Northstar 1 full season for probably 100 Kms or so. Before this we have used singles (Paluski) for about 4 years. Paddle lake and ocean.

    Pro's
    Very stable
Quite fast once moving. Paddled 11kph on GPS.
Carries a large load and the centre cargo bay can carry an animal such as our 80 lb hound or of course gear.
Unsychronized paddling will not cause a problem as paddlers are separated far enough from each other . This is great in rougher ocean conditions when power is needed rather than finesse.
    Ample deck rigging.
Because the hull has a V shape it tracks well, and works very well with the rudder as needed. We had it in 4 foot swells and it was very managable even when the rudder came out of the water.
Great seats and thigh supports, get back ache in my single but no problem in Northstar.

    Con's

HEAVY. Don't want to be carrying too far at 94 lbs. We have a trailer for moving to the water from home, and a sturdy dolly for moving local. Only short moves by hand.
Centre hatch is not watertight from rear paddler.

    8 out of 10

I TOOK IT ON A SURVIVAL TRIP TO ALBERTA, AND IT KEPT ME WARM AND DRY. ONE NIGHT I DIDN’T SLEEP WITH IT OVER MY MUMMY BAG AND I WAS HONESTLY PRETTY COLD…COULD HAVE ALSO BEEN THAT I FORGOT TO CHANGE MY SOCKS BUT WHATEVER. IT RAINED A LOT ON THAT TRIP, AND EVEN SNOWED, AND THE BAG DID IT’S JOB KEEPING ME DRY AND A FEW DEGREES WARMER. ONE THING I DON’T LIKE ABOUT IT IS THE AIR FLAPS. THEY DON’T ALLOW FOR MUCH BREATHABILITY.

This is one amazingly small stove that unfolds to twice it's size. It gets very very hot but doesn't take long to cool down once shut off. It's okay at simmering but won't match an alcohol stove in this respect. The three supports are very solid and the weight of your pot only further locks things into place. The piezo ignition works every single time. I have yet to see it fail to light on the first try. Very few moving parts. The only part I can see needing maintenance/replacement years from now is the rubber seal that seats on the fuel canister. All these canister stoves share this weakness though. I'm very happy with this stove. It fits my snowpeak 700 perfectly. If you have a narrow diameter mug that you want to use this with you may want to check out if it fits first on the pot supports.

This is a very comfortable pack and the rain cover works extremely well. Lots of room for your gear but I don't think it's big enough for week long trips. Has a convenient pocket in the waist strap (nice spot for band aids and advil). Very adjustable. Glad I bought it.
